This dramatic photo of Air Force one was taken at the 128 National Guard airbase in Milwaukee. To photograph a president begins with getting White House clearance so one can get access to highly secured areas. Lots of ID showing, lots of soldier, and equipment sweeps. To make sure that AF1 is more thoroughly protected an entire railroad train was intentionally stopped on a nearby bride to provide more cover to the landing area.
Then it’s a lot of hurry and wait. My primary lens was a Canon 100-400mm F4 lens attached to a Sony A7R3 body, and a tripod.
